My name is Marie-Eve and Biome Elements is a startup that I founded with my partner, Shayne. The
company was born out of the interests, passions and learnings we have accumulated in
our backpacks over the years.
Passionate about nature, I had the idea of creating and offering a variety of products
such as mosquito repellents, natural soaps, candles and a soothing balm so that the
whole family could enjoy outdoor activities without hassle, in complete safety and with
respect for the environment.
I always spent my childhood summers at my father’s cottage in the Laurentians. Lac Caché was the perfect place for swimming, hiking and fishing.
One of my favorite moments was our walks in the forest, where my father would make me taste Savoyane root, spruce gum, wintergreen and teach me about all the plants, trees and animals around us.
My travels in the Amazon, Central America and South Africa have always focused on learning about the way people live, the remedies they use and the animals that surround them.
So, naturally, I decided to study horticulture to learn even more!
Since the arrival of our son, it has become increasingly important for me to create my own project, one that would reflect exactly who I am, my values and that would allow us to teach our son everything I’ve learned about plants, nature and the importance of an active outdoor life.
Playing outdoors is essential for us, but mosquitoes and ticks are never far away and can disrupt our moments in the park, forest or on the terrace… the idea for Biome Éléments was born!
Whether it’s the boreal forest, the prairies, the rainforest or the savannah, biomes are all playgrounds to be explored without moderation!
What’s important to us is to offer families, outdoor enthusiasts and patio dinner fans a way to enjoy every moment outdoors.
It’s essential to develop products that are safe for us and for the environment.
We use natural plant-based ingredients and prefer to source locally in Quebec and Canada.
All ingredients are organic, with the exception of the wax used in our soy plant candles. All packaging is recyclable, and cardboard is made from 100% recycled materials.
Our motivation is to make Biome Elements known to as many people as possible and to create a community of enthusiasts who will share their camping, hiking and family outing experiences to influence as many people as possible to get outdoors and play! Share your outdoor moments here!
