The natural ingredients in our products

Our company is a startup. Manufacturing products with natural ingredients and components represents an additional cost and a greater sourcing challenge. Despite these points, we don’t want to compromise on quality and environment. We choose to offer high-quality products to customers who are concerned about the impact their purchase will have on the environment and their health! In this article, you’ll find out which ingredients go into our products!

Which oils make up our soaps

When we found our winning recipe for our soaps, we made sure to source them as locally as possible. Our organic canola oil is grown and pressed in Quebec. As for our organic olive oil, organic coconut oil and organic shea butter, unfortunately, these plants and fruits don’t grow around here yet😛 but we encourage local businesses to source them for us in large quantities though! They’ve also been ethically grown.

What each oil does for your skin
-Canola oil: contains 60% vitamin E and is rich in fatty acids, moisturizing and nourishing the skin.
-Coconut oil: contains vitamin E, A and lauric acid to moisturize, soften and give a beautiful lather.
-Shea butter: vitamin A contributes to skin suppleness, soothing and healing effect.
-Olive oil: richest in antioxidants, gentle on sensitive skin, moisturizing and excellent cleansing power.

Clays in our soaps

Clay is a mineral ingredient with many benefits for skin and body. So we decided to use them in all our soaps for their properties, of course, but as an added bonus, it’s the clays that give each soap its natural color!

Green clay: Ideal for acne, detoxifying, cleansing
White clay: The all-purpose clay, suitable even for sensitive skin, it softens and soothes.
Pink clay: Brings radiance to the skin, tones and cleanses.

What are our candles made of?

Our candles are made from 100% soy wax. We weighed the pros and cons of each of the waxes offered, and soy wax is the logical choice for us right now. But why?
Waxes derived from kerosene are made from petroleum residues and release toxins when burned.

Palm wax is 100% natural and derived from plants, but it is only grown in tropical regions where deforestation is often a major threat to flora and fauna.

The soy wax we have chosen comes from sustainable, deforestation-free crops grown in the USA. In this way, we avoid sourcing soybeans from the Amazon, which causes a huge problem of deforestation and loss of habitat for indigenous communities and the animal and plant species found there.

The essential oils that make up our fragrances

Essential oils were the natural choice for the fragrance of our candles and soaps.

Synthetic fragrances are more economical, but fragrances are created in laboratories using chemicals and petrochemicals to recreate scents sometimes reminiscent of nature, sometimes imitating odors such as cotton candy, pumpkin pie or fried potato.

Essential oils are entirely natural elements derived from the stems, flowers or leaves of plants or trees. Then there’s the matter of ensuring that these are grown in a sustainable and ecological way. We pay particular attention to sourcing organic and sustainable products. So we’re proud to be able to offer 95% organic oils.

What about Biome Elements packaging?

The world of packaging is changing for the better. Over-packaging and plastic packaging have been singled out for years as causing enormous damage to our ecosystems. Now, more and more people are aware of the problem and are looking for packaging that reflects their value. Companies large and small are now offering packaging that takes the environment into account, and thinking about packaging design from a circular economy perspective. Of course, there’s still a long way to go, but the winds of change are blowing.

We want to be part of this change, and offer cardboard made from 100% recycled and recyclable materials. Our cardboard inks are also vegetable-based.

Our candle containers are made from 100% recyclable metal, and the bamboo lid is a sustainable wood that regenerates quickly. Ideally, you can give your candle containers a second life by reusing them to hold your jewelry, keys, buttons, spices, etc. In fact, share a photo of your candle container’s 2nd life on our social networks, and you’ll inspire others to do the same!

A desire for constant improvement

For us, the importance of doing better and finding better ingredients is very important. We’re always looking for new ideas and solutions to offer our customers an even better product, while making the environment a priority.
