Why light candles when you’re enjoying the outdoors?
Not so long ago, we’d buy a candle we saw in a store and think: “Ah, why not!
We might also receive it as a gift on a special occasion like a party, or for Christmas.
Now, candles are more popular than ever, and do you know why? We need comfort, light and warm spaces more than ever!
In fact, lighting one or a few candles on the outdoor dining table makes all the difference in bringing a warmer touch to your evening. Although they don’t create enough light to see what you’ve got on your plate, they do provide an extra luminosity that can come in very handy.
Our Biome Elements candles are made with essential oils that will bring a pleasant fragrance to you and your guests. We’ve also taken care to choose essential oils with mosquito repellent properties! Why not combine ambiance with practicality, since those little bugs are never far away.
As you may know, the Swedes have a philosophy of life called “Lagom”, which conveys the values of simplicity and a lifestyle close to nature.
Family is a very important part of their lives, and community spirit makes for a happier life. When you have a good relationship with those close to you, you’re less lonely, you have richer, livelier discussions, and you have people to lean on when you’re going through a difficult time.
Work hard, yes, but work too hard…no! It’s all about balance, and the Swedes seem to have understood this. For both employers and employees, the focus is on balanced working hours not exceeding 40 hours, activities and breaks.
Whether it’s sporting activities, choosing consumer products or decorating their homes, Swedes are keen to keep their living spaces as clutter-free as possible, make environmentally-friendly choices and simply get outside to breathe and walk.
The Scandinavian countries have a climate very similar to ours, with long, harsh winters. What’s more, they have to live with very few hours of sunshine during the winter months. So they use candles in their homes, workplaces and stores to brighten up the dark days. Candles undeniably have an impact on their perception of their living spaces and their level of well-being.
Well yes, the Scandinavian countries; Sweden, Denmark and Finland use large candles 10 to 15 cm in diameter with wicks that can stay lit despite wind and rain! They use these candles to illuminate their gardens and streets. If they can brighten up our days at home, why not do the same outside? The sun doesn’t always shine, and sometimes sets early, depending on the season.
Let’s bring a little “Lagom” into our lifestyle and spend more time with family, friends and, even better, nature!
